I used the enclosed recipe, however, I let the cookies bake 50-60 seconds instead of 40-seconds and they still came out soft. I am used to pizzelle being crispy, so maybe it says "cookie baker" and not pizzelle baker because they do not cook crispy. I only used it once, but enjoyed using it and will try again and let the cookies bake longer to see if they still come out soft or if I can get a crisp out of them. The centers heat up quicker then the outer areas, so the heat is a little uneven. My father is almost 90, so he enjoys them soft, so I will definitely continue to use the Mickey baker. Had no trouble at all with sticking. I used non-stick spray just once before I began - don't over spray - and not a single stuck cookie. (I baker bought slightly used)
